WORK EXPERIENCE
01/00- present Senior Director,
Administration & Operations, Grants Coordinator Buffalo and Erie
County Historical Society, Buffalo, New York. Report to the Executive
Director. Responsible for Institution-wide daily operations, implementation
of planning, and writing of all government grants. Coordinated BECHS
Pan-Am Centennial Committee and provided liaison with Women for the
Pan-Am, the Landmark Society, the Arts Council, the Cultural Tourism
Committee, and the Erie County Cultural Resources Advisory Board
10/96 01/00 Director of Development,
Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, Buffalo, New York. Report
to the Executive Director. Responsible for coordinating all phases of
development, including grant writing, membership, and annual fund, and
supervising directors of public relations, and volunteers and special
events. Responsible for expansion of BECHS technological capabilities
to include moving from 2 Windows-capable computers in 1996 to institution-wide
WIN-98 capabilities by the end of 1999.

Relations, D'Youville College, Buffalo, New York. Report to the Director,
Administrative Services. Responsible for all relations with private
foundations, including prospect research, coordinating with appropriate
college faculty and administrators, grant writing, and stewardship of
awards. Also coordinate liaison with Buffalo community development commission
(HUD block grants) and New York State Department of Education local
initiative grants. Assist with coordination of special events and campus
visits of prospective donors. Sit on several campus committees, including
the scholarship committee and the recent Middle States self-study. 2/92
- 11/94 Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations (Expanded activities
allowed the hiring of a director of corporate relations and planned
giving, 11/94.) The combined position included the responsibility for
identifying and soliciting support from corporate donors. 1993-1994
solicitations netted over $250,000 from regional and national corporations
and foundations, including over $50,000 from donors new to the college.

College. Teach basic grant writing workshops for continuing education
and graduate students in Nursing, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, and
Social Work.
1/90 - 6/91 Director of Development,
Calasanctius School, Buffalo, New York. Reported directly to the Headmaster.
Responsible for Annual Giving ($157,000 in 1990-1991 campaign), grant
writing, liaison with Parents Association and alumni, coordination of
volunteers, special events, production of all school publications, public
relations, and advertising. Designed database and implemented computerization
of all school constituencies including alumni, parents, and donor records
resulting in improved communication and incremental increases in annual
donations.
1/88 - 12/90 Director, Adult &
Summer Enrichment Programs, Calasanctius School. Responsible for design
of programs and promotional materials, publicity, selecting and supervising
teachers, scheduling, discipline, and relations with parents. The multidisciplinary
summer programs included language immersion (Chinese), ecology field
studies, outer space, and hands-on science for children ages 5-10. The
adult enrichment programs were designed to showcase the school's quality
of programming and instruction. Calasanctius faculty taught courses
in painting, calligraphy, languages, and world studies (including a
seminar on doing business in China.)

Hill School, Augusta, Georgia. Taught reading and research in 8th grade.

Augusta Spectator, Augusta Georgia. Responsible for overall "look"
of a new quarterly regional magazine with a circulation of 25,000.

Help School, Selma, Texas. Designed and taught writing and research
program for gifted 7th and 8th graders.
1972-73 Volunteer Supervisor, Army
Community Service (ACS), US Army, Hawaii. Directly supervised staff
of six volunteer administrators, public representative of the organization
including orientation of Army personnel and families new to Hawaii,
coordinator of activities of approximately 300 volunteers located on
three different posts, designed training programs, and responded to
needs of Army families in Hawaii. The diverse missions of ACS included
publication of a community newsletter, enrichment program for toddlers
at two daycare facilities, and coordination of emergency relief for
families in distress.
